Thank you for your interest in me!
I am a postdoctoral scholar serving as a Preceptor in the
Data Science Institute (DSI)
at the University of Chicago.
In my role as a Preceptor, I focus on supporting Computer Science and Data
Science education at the University of Chicago
as well as the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC).
Prior to joining UChicago, I earned a doctorate degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, under the supervision of Prof. Weiyi Meng. My research lies in the intersection of Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval and Machine Learning. My doctoral dissertation focussed on the problem of Scalable Named Entity Recognition for Microblog Streams. My work involves building state-of-the-art Deep Learning pipelines for NLP tasks on short textual contents in a streaming setting.
I also briefly worked as a Machine Learning Engineer for the Content Growth and Moderation Team at Quora.
Outside my academic work, I spend time studying history, writing fiction and passionately supporting Liverpool Football Club. But mostly, I yearn for Kolkata!
